LEVEL 3 EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK

This nationally recognised first aid qualification run in conjunction with the First Aid Awards (FAA) follows the guidance as set out in the First Aid Regulations 1981 and is the basic requirement for a nominated first aider in a low risk setting e.g. office or shop.

 

The course covers an array of content such as:

 

The responsibilities of being a first aider

Primary survey and CPR

Working with an AED

The Recovery Position

Managing a choking casualty

Shock and fainting

Epilepsy & Seizures

Wounds and bleeding

Amputations

Minor injuries

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT

Understanding the needs of those working in the health and social care sector this course meets all regulations as specified in the Resuscitation Council’s 2021 guidelines and adheres to the NHS core skills training framework. The course covers the chain of survival, managing a choking casualty, CPR, working with an AED (automated external defibrillator) & the recovery position. The session can also be adapted to include other areas such as paediatric life support, oxygen awareness and anaphylaxis.

 

The maximum number of participants for this course is 16.

 

Course duration: approx 2 hours

Fire Extinguisher

FIRE WARDEN TRAINING

This is a fully comprehensive fire warden training course designed to ensure that participants understand both the proactive and reactive roles and responsibilities of a fire warden as specified in the RRFSO 2005. It can be adapted to suit the needs of all individual work settings and covers all aspects of the fire awareness course. Areas usually covered include practical extinguisher training, hazard spotting, reporting and risk assessment, table top evacuation exercises, personal emergency evacuation plans (PEEPS) and much more.

Working with the company Macroscans, this session now includes a virtual reality element giving participants an opportunity to explore a virtual environment during a fire scenario. This exciting package has been exclusively designed for Prime Response Training to give participants the 'real feel' of a fire emergency and to allow them to use correct technique when attempting to extinguish the fire. MOVING AND HANDLING - PATIENT

This course looks at all areas covered on the non patient moving & handling course and in addition includes controversial techniques and managing a falling patient. The session also includes a practical element covering the basics of patient moving and handling and using equipment such as transfer boards, turntables, handling belts, sliding sheets and hoisting.

 

The maximum number of participants for this course is 16.

MOVING & HANDLING TRAINING - NON PATIENT

This course looks at all areas surrounding non patient moving and handling and meets all the current guidelines. It looks at legislation, inanimate loads, risk assessment, ergonomics, spinal awareness & the importance of good back care.
